Major Executive Search announces the successful completion of an assignment placing Paul Struhsaker as Consortium Executive Director at the Wireless Power Consortium. Established in 2008, the WPC is an open, collaborative standards development group of more than 400 member companies around the globe.  Major Executive Search Managing Director John Rivoir along with Founder and CEO Sue Major conducted the assignment.

The Board of Directors of the Wireless Power Consortium announced the appointment of Paul Struhsaker as Executive Director for the Wireless Power Consortium, saying Paul comes eminently qualified for the role of leading WPC. He is an experienced innovation and engineering executive, who has led transformation across multiple industries including wireless networking (cellular and Wi-Fi), consumer electronics, silicon platforms, and large-scale cloud client computing.

Paul brings a unique combination of highly applicable experience to WPC including senior level leadership positions with several Fortune 500 companies. He held C- or VP level roles at Dell, Cablevision, AMD, Motorola and Carnegie Technologies with responsibility for global teams with as many as 2,000 engineers.

In the standards world, he has held leadership roles for multiple bodies, including Chairman for the IEEE’s 802.11b standard and Vice Chairman for the 802.16 standard, as well as standards for 3GPP cellular, the LoRa Alliance and the Open Cable Software Standards.

Paul operates with a global business perspective from his experience in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Paul has a history of innovation as evidenced by his more than 60 patents in wireless and cellular, IoT, cable and network infrastructure technologies.

Paul earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Akron in Akron, OH and his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. He is based in Austin, TX, USA
